Scripture Focus:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
Reflection
I was trying to fix something simple… a small filter in my washing machine.
But I couldn’t get it to fit.
I tried over and over again, getting more frustrated each time. The piece wasn’t broken. I wasn’t incapable.
I just couldn’t see.
I was working in the dark.
The moment I grabbed a flashlight, everything changed. What felt complicated became simple. What felt impossible took seconds.
That’s when it hit me:
This is how life feels when we don’t have light.
We try harder.
We push more.
We get frustrated with ourselves—and even with others.
But the real issue isn’t always effort…
It’s clarity.
God’s Word Brings Light
The Bible says God’s Word is a lamp and a light.
Not just something to read—but something that helps us see.
It reveals:
- What’s really going on
- Where we’re off
- What step to take next
Without it, we’re guessing.
And guessing leads to stumbling.
Jesus said:
“If anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.” — John 11:10
When we move without His truth guiding us, life becomes harder than it needs to be.
We Carry the Light
Jesus also said:
“You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others.” — Matthew 5:14–16
This is powerful.
We’re not just people looking for light…
We are people who carry it.
Why?
Because we carry:
- His Word
- His Spirit
- His truth
That means when we walk into dark situations—confusion, conflict, uncertainty—we don’t have to be overwhelmed.
We bring light into it.
Application
If something in your life feels frustrating or unclear right now, ask yourself:
Am I trying to figure this out in the dark?
Instead of forcing it:
- Bring it to God in prayer
- Open His Word and seek wisdom
- Talk to believers who have walked through similar situations
Sometimes the breakthrough doesn’t come from trying harder…
It comes from turning on the light.
Prayer
Our Father,
Thank You for being our light in every situation.
When we feel confused or frustrated, remind us to come back to You.
Shine Your truth on the areas we cannot see clearly.
Help us not only to walk in Your light, but to carry it into the lives of others.
Give us wisdom, clarity, and peace today.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Closing Thought
Don’t keep forcing what you can’t see clearly.
Turn on the light.
Because when God illuminates your path…
even the hardest things begin to come together.
